Bonus share calculator
See the price after book close, and how many bonus shares you will get.
How to use it
- Type the price before book close.
- Type the bonus percent the company announced.
- Add your shares to see how many you get.
Why the price drops
Bonus shares are extra shares given free to owners. The company is worth the same, but it is now split into more shares. So NEPSE lowers the price on the book close date.
FormulaAdjusted price = Price before / (1 + Bonus % / 100)
Your money stays the same
You get more shares at a lower price. On the day, the value of what you own does not change. Tax of 5% is charged on bonus shares at Rs 100 each, usually taken from the cash dividend.
